When exiting the water you will enter the transition area, where you will change and get ready for the 180 km bike ride.
After leaving the water, you will enter transition, where you will be able to change and prepare for the 180 km ride. You will collect your red bag (bike equipment) and change in the transition tent. Once ready, you will have to place all equipment used in the swim (wetsuit, goggles…) in the red bag, and to leave your bag in the suitable zone.
It is not allowed to exit the transition tent wearing a wetsuit. All changing has to be done in the tent. Then, you go to pick up your bike and run to the exit. From here you will head on to your bike. The first aid station at the race will be available at the km 25.
30 pumps will be available in the transition area, which are free to use. Please note that if you bring your own pump, is it not allowed to keep it in your RED or GREEN bag. Please also note that Challenge Vichy is not responsible for lost items in transition area.
Your helmet shall be placed by the bike. Besides the helmet, you are only allowed to leave small items such as sunglasses, race number, energy, bikes shoes etc., on the bike, nothing on the ground. Bike shoes shall be in the red bag or secured on the bike pedals. Shoes may not be placed beside the bike. All clothes shall be in the red bag and are not allowed on the bike.
Please note that before altering the bike, you need to have the chinstrap fastened.
The chinstrap shall be fastened at all times when the athlete is on the bike or running with the bike. Failure to do so may cause a penalty from one of the race marshals.
You have to cross the bike mount line before altering your bike. The line will be clearly marked. After altering your bike you will be ready to enjoy the 180 km going through some of the most beautiful parts of Auvergne with a scenic view on the Chaîne des Puys (volcano).
Athletes have to be out of transition area at 9h35, otherwise they will not be allowed to continue the race.
