Cut-off time

Please read this section carefully, your race may depend on it!

Challenge Vichy is a 16 hours race, starting with the pro-group at 7.00, and with the last finisher entering the finish line at 23.00. Half VICHY is a 7 hours race, starting at 8.00, the last finisher entering the finish line at 15.00. In addition to finishing the race, you need to stay within the following cut-off times:
09.20 – Last competitor out of water
09.35
– Last competitor out of the transition area
13.15 – Last competitor of Challenge Vichy shall begin the second bike lap

13.45 – Last competitor of Half Vichy shall begin the second run lap

17.00 – Last competitor shall enter transition area, and the bike course closes

21.45 – Last competitor of Challenge Vichy shall begin the last run lap

23.00 – The finish line closes

Due to the athletes’ safety, cut-off times have to be respected. Race marshals will tell you if you did not make it in time.

Challenge Vichy is timed with Chronorace. You will receive your personal timing chip at registration. Fasten it to your left ankle with a Velcro strap before the swim, and leave it on until you finish the race. You may apply vaseline around your ankle to avoid chafing –this will not affect the chip of timing.

If you lose your chip, seek advice with the first race marshal possible. You need your chip for timing and to get your bike, blue bag and red bag from the transition area.

If you do not start, you still have to return the timing chip. This is done either in registration or at the swim start.
